ABOUT ME

I come from an extended family of healthcare specialists. On securing state counselling rank 35 in my 12th Boards, I got the opportunity to pursue MBBS in merit from Chengalpattu government medical college, Tamil Nadu. Upon graduating I worked for a year in a corporate hospital, Pon Malligai Pvt Ltd Chennai, as an Emergency medical officer & general consultant, where I got the unique opportunity to closely shadow and learn the art of social entrepreneurship from my MD & CEO, Dr. Marthupandian.

On gaining adequate managerial and medical Insight, I joined MEASI Medical Centre, New College, Chennai, which is funded by the Measi Trust. Here I got the chance to engage with the student community, collaborate with the NSS by leading volunteers in extensive outreach activities catering to the health care needs of the under-privileged, in and around districts of Chennai & Chengalpattu.

Knowing very well that long-term consistency triumphs over short-term intensity, I have always engaged myself with art, and it has never failed to revitalize me in the pursuit of my long term goals. I have gradually progressed from an abstract artist to a fine arts photographer, winning numerous competitions, exhibiting my work at art-shows and eventually selling my work to clients.

However, one thing that has remained constant through the years, has been my desire to transform the health-ecosystem. A lot of reform is due both in the services & the product sector so it’s high time that doctors lead the charge in transforming how healthcare is perceived, conceptualized and delivered - Because frankly who else knows the pain points better than us. That is why I have decided to forgo the MD/MS merit seats acquired by topping post graduate examinations in India, to purse Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, the oldest B-school in the country.

Undoubtedly, there is a long way to go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. And I eagerly look forward to finding like minded people along this chosen career path.
